K-State National Food & Animal Health Institute
"The National Food and Animal Health Institute to be located on the K-State Innovation Campus in Olathe will bring K-State's world class education and research in food safety and animal health into the middle of the Animal Health Corridor and provide a gateway to K-State's broad capabilities and resources on the Manhattan campus. The Johnson County Education Research Triangle will be the catalyst that allows the facility to be built, the research conducted and the degrees offered. It will also provide the incentive to attract federal and private monies to this campus."

Introduction
K-State Olathe Innovation Campus, Inc. (K-State OIC), on behalf of Kansas State University (K-State) and K-State's innovation partners, is proposing to build the National Food and Animal Health Institute (NFAHI) on the K-State Olathe Innovation Campus, Inc. The new facility will address learning, discovery, outreach, and innovation needs within Johnson County and throughout the region.

The NFAHI mission of K-State and its lead partner, the Midwest Research Institute (MRI), focuses on the safety and security of the nation's agricultural infrastructure and food supply. The NFAHI will stimulate the integration of research, technology transfer, public policy development, media communication, and educational outreach for federal, state, and local stakeholders with linkages to the law enforcement and first responder communities.
